Water Efficiency Calculations The Requirement G2 and Regulation 36 in Devon.
If you are building a new dwelling or forming a dwelling by material change of use in Devon you are required by building regulations Part G to design the appliances to use no more than 125 Litres of water per person per day.
This part of the building regulations states "Reasonable provision must be made by the installation of fitting and fixed appliances that use water efficiently for the prevention of undue consumption of water". This methodology is in support of The Code for Sustainable Homes, May 2009 onwards and the Building Regulations 2000.
The Council in Devon can set their own targets for water consumption.
If you're doing these calculations as part of a Code for Sustainable Homes assessment, you may be required to use no less than 80 litres per person, per day.
- Code for Sustainable Homes (Level 1/2) 120 litres/person/day
