These are a Government defined process in accordance with Part L1B Building Control Regulation Compliance of Domestic Property SAP Extension Assessments are the Government's Standard Assessment Procedure for Energy Rating of Dwellings.

Since 6th April 2006, Part L1B has required SAP Extension Assessments to be carried out on every new conversion.

All SAP Extension Assessments are calculated in accordance with Part L1B of the building regulations.

Many extension designs do not comply with the minimum Part L1b regulations. These require that areas of new glazing account for no more than 25% of new floor area.

We can help you overcome this hurdle easily and quickly.

You will automatically achieve Compliance with Part L1B if the extension envelope is sufficiently insulated, the area of all openings is within the 25% allowance and building service are sufficient. If your dwelling does not achieve this standard our consultants in Lound will be able to give you advise on how to offset this by potentially upgrading other parts of the dwelling.
